Robert was born in Berkshire and attended Eton College and Trinity Cambridge before pursuing a career in the City of London. After retiring from the City in 2007, Robert divides his time between his house in Kent and Provence writing music, novels, and plays.

Background Information

Although my background is in science, I always enjoyed writing and playing music and songs. I was an avid reader of everything from classic novels to science fiction. But most of all I loved comedy in all its forms. I used to devour the works of PG Wodehouse and Evelyn Waugh, and more recently Tom Sharpe and Bill Bryson. There is something about making people laugh that i find particularly satisfying. After leaving the city I had the opportunity to use all the bad puns i had built up for years in writing Pantomime. This lead on to the idea of a comic novel.
