Morgan McCarver is a multi-award-winning ceramic artist based in Asheville, North Carolina. After a scoliosis spinal fusion surgery made it impossible for her to dance during recovery, she redirected her creative energy and discovered a passion for clay while taking a summer pottery class. This inspired her to pursue a degree in ceramics from Anderson University in South Carolina, where she had the honor of receiving the 2019 Outstanding Art Major Ceramics Award. She established her own business, Morgan McCarver Porcelain in 2019 and has studios in Asheville, NC and Spartanburg, SC. Her work has been featured in galleries and juried exhibitions across the United States. Some of the highlights include being a 2020 701 Center for Contemporary Art prize finalist, where she had the honor of being the youngest artist to ever make it that far, She has displayed her work in two solo exhibitions, “FemininiTEA” 2020 and “The Strength of a Wildflower” 2022. She also completed residencies at Edgewood Cottage in Blowing Rock, 2022 and 2023. She became a recipient of the North Carolina Arts Council Artist Support Grant, allowing her to attend the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts for the first time. She has several copyrights on her floral drawings that she screenprints onto her porcelain. Her art can be found in various galleries around the carolinas and Tennessee as well as on her website, www.morganmccarver.com, and her Etsy shop, MorganMPorcelain. She spends most of her days in her studio, crafting beautiful works of art, while Sundays are reserved for church. As an active member of Brookstone Church in Weaverville, NC, she enjoys spending time with her small group and volunteering as a youth leader.
