Born , broughtup and eduacated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, I have been, till recently, a professor of English language skills at a leading technical university and writing poetry, haiku and tanka in English for about four decades. I have authored over 160 research articles, 175 book reviews and 46 books, including twenty volumes of poetry. Most of my poems deal with sociocultural ethos, man-woman relationship,and issues that disturb harmony, both within and without. I have been critical of hypocrisy at all levels and pleading for unity of mankind, and living without biases of class, colour, community, religion, language, and nationality. I firmy stand for WORLD UNITY and poetry has been a medium to reach out to a larger world humanity.

(Hon.) of the World Academy of Arts and Culture, ROC (1984), Michael Madhusudan Award, Kolkata (1994), Peace Museum Award, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto(1999), Certificate of Honour, Kumamoto, Japan (2000, 2008),and Naji Naaman's Literary Prize (2015). My biobibliography appears in over 30 reference publications in India and abroad.
