This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Heather Grace Stewart wrote her first poem at five, inspired by falling down a lot while attempting to figure skate. “At the Arena” was published in her primary school’s newsletter.
From that moment on, she was hooked on writing.

Information
At Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Heather honed her skills by writing poetry for the Queen’s Journal, ASH literary journal and the Tricolour yearbook. After graduating in 1995 with a BA(H), Heather attended Concordia University in Montréal and received a graduate degree in Journalism. In 1996 she became Associate Editor of four Canadian magazines (including Harrowsmith and Equinox). In 1999 she founded Graceful Publications, her freelance editing, writing, photography, and translation agency, working for national magazines and newspapers. Major influences: Her parents, Dr. Seuss, Oscar the Grouch, Canadian Children's poet Dennis Lee, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson and Sara Teasdale.
