I live in eastern North Carolina. My published novels include the Logan Hunter Mysteries: Genesis Beach, Just North of Luck, Hell Swamp, Sin Creek and Sticking Point. Slightly Cracked is my first women's fiction, about lifelong friendship. My latest book is historical fiction, Sprig of Broom. My publisher is Studebaker Press. I also compiled recipes into a unique cookbook, entitled Killer Recipes

Information
I am a life-long native of North Carolin, having lived in eastern and western NC. I taught high school English for thirteen years before moving into educational administration. I have three degrees from East Carolina University, including a doctorate, earned in 1995.
Living in North Carolina all my life has had an impact on my writing. I try to add local color to my books. The process from idea to print was an arduous task with Genesis Beach, my first mystery novel. I am excited that both Genesis Beach and Just North of Luck are satisfying to readers who are letting me know I made them laugh and cry and shocked them a little. Hell Swamp and Sin Creek have been added to the Logan Hunter Mystery series by L&L Dreamspell. I am currently working on the fifth book in the series.
My writing has been influenced by so many writers: Patterson, Gerrittsen, Sandford, Deaver, Roberts, Scottoline, and Evanovich. I have joined writer/reader groups online and Facebook and TWitter. It's amazing how many group members have become cyber friends. We check out each other's books, offer to review, and maybe even endorse a book for each other. Some of us have converged on libraries and stores to do signings together. I am currently interviewing other writers at www.susanwhitfield.blogspot.com
