Information
I am an author of several books on respect and character education for children. I published my first book, The Rootworker, in 1983. I am a retired Biologist/Chemist and was the Research Correspondent for the company’s magazine for approximately 20 years. My enjoyment of writing began in high school while reading the classics and preparing book reports. I realized that these books had great stories to tell. I remember reading Richard Wright’s Native Son and feeling the pain and desperation that Bigger Thomas felt. The pain and horror for me was real. I couldn’t believe that words from a book could influence me in that way. I knew at that time that I wanted to write like Richard Wright and make people feel the pain of my characters too.
