Born in 1973, I was raised a military brat. My dad served our nation in the Air Force for 20 years. My mom was a physical therapist. The most important aspect of our lives was our relationship with God. My mom died when I was 12 and my step-mother came into the family when I was 13. Despite the relational and emotional upheaval this represented for everyone, one thing remained the same. Serving the Lord was most important. I graduated from Gosnell High School (Gosnell, AR) in 1990 and left with my best friend to attend Wichita State University. We were going to be aerospace engineers, build rockets, fly spaceships and revolutionize space travel. Despite going on a scholarship and being sure this was my calling, I hated it. I transferred to the math department. Then to the English department. Finally, I settled in the education department. However, as all this was happening in my education, something else was happening in my life. I was given opportunities not merely to teach, but to teach the Bible. Finally, I figured out what I was going to do. I would help people serve God, serve others and go to heaven. I want to help people be like the ones of Psalm 1, trees planted by the water, bearing fruit, not whithering and prospering all the while. Now I strive whether through public speaking, group discussions, one on one relationships or writing to help people live fruitful lives in service of the King. Though I have dabbled in secular books and done some ghost writing, my published works are all designed to help people grow in Christ. May God richly bless you as you draw closer to Him.
