Debra has a Bachelor's Degree in English from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. She and her husband Derrol published The Eagle Press, Fritch's community newspaper for twelve years. As editor of the newspaper, Debra honed her craft through writing dedicated to inform and entertain her readers. She served on the board of the Texas Press Association for one year and as president of the Panhandle Press Association. She is a member of Panhandle Professional Writers located in Amarillo, Texas, and the Writers' League of Texas.
