Dr. Jill Diana Chasse is a pregnancy counselor and maternal/perinatal wellness consultant. She has been working with the mother-baby dyad in birth and psychology for over 20 years She is the founder of the "Magic of Motherhood ©" baby-centered birthing method and "Womb Baby Learning ©" early bonding and stimulation. Jill Chasse was certified in 1996 for counseling and hypnosis for childbirth by the International Association for Counselors and Therapists (IACT) and has since been working with families to prepare for birth and parenthood. She has received training and a certificate as a Birth Assistant, trained as a birth doula with CAPPA, and has studied midwifey at both Ancient Arts Midwifery Institute and Institute of Holistic Midwifery. She utilizes this training in her consulting/counseling practice. She is a member of Childbirth & Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), the American Psychological Association (APA), Maryland Friends of Midwives (MFM) and Chesapeake Midwifery Guild (CMG). She is the founder/moderator of the Perinatal Psychology group an outreach project of BEPE-East, with professional members and leaders in the field from all over the world. Dr. Chasse has conducted lectures, led discussions, published numerous articles, and written several books, including Baby Magic which has sold in 8 countries. Her current book Womb Wonders will be out soon! Jill focuses on the mother-baby relationship before birth, working with the parents to stimulate brain development and bonding. She has done research and had clinical time in maternal mental wellness, developmental psychology and grief and bereavement. Dr. Chasse holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Behavior, a Master's degree of Public Administration, a Master’s of Science in Psychology and a PhD in Health Administration. She is a certified advanced clinical hypnotherapist. She also holds 30 credits (3.7 GPA) in a doctoral psychology degree program from the APA accredited Harold Abel School of Psychology at Capella University. As co-chair of the Communications Committee for the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health, Dr. Chasse strives to bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice for healthier and happier families and babies. She is also on the Board of Birth Options Alliance, a support and education group for families in the national capital area.
