I grew up in San Leandro, Calif. I was drafted into the army in 1969, ended up going to Military Police School, then spent a year in Vietnam with the 557th MP Co.

Once that wonderful year was over, I came home and became a police offficer with the Pleasant Hill Police Department. I spent almost 30 years there, retiring in Feb. 2001 as a Sergeant.

I have been married to my best friend, Charlene, for 48 years and we have two wonderful children, Allie and Scott. The major influences in my life have been the life experiences I have had in my childhood, the army, and with the police department. My parents were a big influence on me, and I thank them for the way I was raised, what they taught me and the example they set. Of course, my wife has been the major influence on my life. She keeps me young!      

B.A in Administration of Justice, M.A. in Public Administration (Management), both achieved through the California State University system. Retired in Feb. 2001 after 30 years as a police officer (sergeant). I then became the Lead Driving Instructor for the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office in emergency vehicle operations/pursuits, driving simulator instructor, and have been designated a Subject Matter Expert in police driving issues by the State of California. I retired from that position in 2015.

My first book, entitled MP, the story of a young MP in Vietnam in 1967-68 has been published through Writers Exchange E-Publishing. The homicide inspector in this book, Vincent Torelli, is none other than the hero of MP, 25 years later, searching for the vigilante killer who takes justice into his own hands when the justice system fails. My third novel, Diplomatic Immunity, finds Inspector Torelli searching for a very talented, deadly sniper who has been killing consul generals in San Francisco, seemingly at random and without motive. My fourth book, Sin Eater,is a murder thriller with paranormal elements. My fifth book, Blood Debt, is another Vince Torelli thriller about the family of a murder suspect, killed in a shoot-out with SFPD, coming to the city to seek revenge on Vince and the officers who killed their brother. Writing started out as a hobby for me, but quickly became much more. Now, it is a pastime that is an enjoyable form of therapy.
