I’m average, and I’m proud. I’m average height, average weight, of average intelligence (arguably), live in an average house on an average street … you see where this is going. The only thing I do which is out of the ordinary is write stories. When I’m not writing them I’m thinking about them. This has landed me in all sorts of strife at work and at home. Thankfully I have a very understanding husband and a similarly lenient employer. My colleague Anne runs interference. I have been influenced by many things; authors too numerous to mention, teachers, family and friends. My environment (the average town) and life experiences have shown me a world where humans do the unthinkable and that the human spirit can transcend all things. As ever, I place myself somewhere in the middle. The only great thing I can say I’ve done with my life is give birth to my wonderful son. At present I’m trying out all sorts of writing styles and genres to see what fits best. With my shape, I’m betting camping stories would be good. I’m a member of a small writing group where I inflict my mental ramblings (affectionately known as cranial flatulence) on the five or six others. Our group leader seems to think my voice lends itself best to Chick Lit but my first love is Fantasy.
