Barbara is currently a school librarian who is emerging as a children's author. Her first book, A Surprise for Baby Ruth (ISBN: 1-60-610-436-5) was published in July, 2008.
Barbara was born in Magee, Mississippi and attended school at Magee and Mendenhall public schools. She graduated from Mendenhall High School in 1971, earned her BA from Mississippi College, Clinton, MS in 1975.

Information
Barbara has been a storyteller and school librarian for many years. Books, authors and stories are a big part of her life. She believes that she has lived a thousand lives through the characters in books that she reads. Barbara has been a featured author at El Paso's Great Southwest Book Fair held annually in October. Barbara has a passion for literacy and increasing literacy rates around the world. She has taught English to college students in Bangkok, Thailand on two summer trips. She set up a library in Bangalore, India. She traveled to Zhuzhou, Hunan province, China in July, 2012 to teach English and set up A Little Free Library@. (http://www.littlefreelibrary.org) While a librarian in El Paso she served on the steering committee for International Student Ministries. Her favorite activity with them was cooking for the 75 students at the monthly get-acquainted-and-practice-your-conversational-English dinner. In 2013 she moved to the Mississippi Delta area to continue her work as a school librarian.
