I am a graduate of UF College of Journalism, 1976. I have been a reporter, newspaper editor, graphics designer, advertising copy writer, t-shirt artist, folksinger, enigma, inner voyager, questioner of authority... Need I continue? Currently  I am a laid-off teacher working on reinvention.  My major literary influences have been J.R.R. Tolkien, Robert Anton Wilson, Robert Frost, Anne Rice  (in her vampire days), and Michael Donaghy. Recently I've been smitten by Dan Brown's edge-of-your-seat simplicity, and George R.R. Martin's "in-your-face" brand of high fantasy. Other influences have been John Lilly, Carlos Castaneda, and Timothy Leary. I've long been a fan of conspiracy yarns, and my own writings tend to wander into that direction; think "Chemtrails as Agents of Retrovirus" variety of paranoia.  Most of all, I love good, strong characters in fiction. Speaking of characters, my mother always said, "I'm a good judge of character, bein' one myself."  

After a recent epiphany, I gave myself the Blinding Flash of the Obvious Award. The award was accompanied by a shrug of my shoulders and an open-handed smack on my own forehead.

I was recently dismissed from my job as a middle school English Teacher for saying "damn." Damn!

Occasionally, my middle school students tell me I'm awesome, but mostly they sit and scratch their heads at my humor. Their labels for me would be "Usually kind, thinks he's funny, old dude."
