I recently published my second book, my first complete fictional novel, titled: "I Miss Your Purple Hair." This story was the result of many inspirations and a product of actual "synchronicities" that occurred in my life. Much of it literally "wrote itself" by virtue of real-life "visions" that began to happen to me throughout the process of writing and editing it. My own daughter served as inspiration for the lead character in IMYPH, "Violet." At the core of the novel, is the purity of the relationship and rapport between a 15-year-old gifted child and her highly-involved (and highly-evolved) father. My intention was not to create an action-adventure, yet that is what it morphed into. A group of strangers find themselves trapped within the San Diego Zoo, and they have no visible means of escape. For reasons unknown, they were brought together at this time for a greater purpose. Violet's awakening is critical to the future of humanity, and greater powers have orchestrated the "synchronicities" that brought these particular people together on the same fateful day. I love J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye" for many reasons, and I think I most likely remind people of that style of writing. My next project will likely be a sequel to "I Miss Your Purple Hair"; or a future-fable I have been working on. I also have a quirky comedy book in mind, and may produce it simultaneously.
