I am a published author and have created a website for authors to sell their works as audiobooks/eBooks.

Background Information

I am a published author of thrillers (four titles by Hodder) and have now branched out into audiobooks and eBooks.  I have set up a website for this purpose to enable authors to sell their audiobooks/eBooks.  I also taught a course in thriller writing through the London School of Journalism. My latest book, No Way Out has just been published by HarperCollins UK.  The first in the series, Mercy, was published in November 2009. I have been influenced by a number of books in my life - four of which are business books that I read recently: From Innovation - the Attacker's Advantage by Richard Foster, I learned that old business are slow to embrace new technologies that would take business away from their established and entrenched interests.  This puts them at a disadvantage when it comes to competition from young upstart businesses, with disruptive technology, that do not have any entrenched interests to protect. From The Long Tail, by Chris Anderson, I learned that business that take advantage of the internet to offer a huge range of products can make a lot of money, even if no one single product sells in large quantities.  Their suppliers too can make money by selling small quantities of a number of products From The Wisdom of Crowds, by James Surowiecki, I learned that one can use the general population as a substitute for the "gatekeepers" - thus agents, editors and critics can all be replaved by customer reviews, backed by powerful search engines. Finally, from The Tipping Point, by Malcolm Gladwell, I learned that a small business can grow and grow by word of mouth until it tips over into large scale business. Oh yes, I also learned this from The Google Story!
