Linda P. Morton, Ed.D, APR, is a Professor Emeritus from The University of Oklahoma. She practiced marketing and public relations and taught public relations for a total of 33 years. She is listed in many Who's Who. She wrote her first book after not being able to find a satisfactory book for her Public Relations Publications class. Public relations practitioners need to base all decisions on a specific target public. So she wrote her book to teach students to base design decisions on target public characteristics. She published the first edition of her traditional book in 2000 and the second edition in Dec. 2006. Strategic Publiations: Designing For Target Publics in used as a textbook in many universities. It is also appropriate for small business owners, public relations and marketing practitioners. She continued to research characteristics for groups of people, and published a regular national "Segmenting Publics" through Public Relations Quarterly for almost a decade. After taking early retirement from her professorship position to open her own business, she updating the information from her column and published an e-book: Know 'em Sell 'em: How To Discover The Best Appeals For Your Target Market. She promotes it on one of her several Web sites. She has also written several short e-books to help small business owners brand and market their businesses.
