As a writer, rarely do I find myself in a position when I can't find words to express my emotions and feelings; that is the reason I became a writer - to exercise my freedom of expression.  Being the only child and living in a house/community where children were to be "seen and not heard" did not afford me the opportunity to vocalize my feelings, so I learned to express myself through my writings - especially Poetry.  I like to raise awareness and bring to the forefront subjects that others shy away from such as domestic violence, homelessness, rape and molestation.  I was inspired to write plays by a former pastor, the late Georgianna Smith, who simply told me to sit down and do it.  Now, I am mentoring other authors, playwrights, poets, and producers by giving them a platform to express their gifts through my production company, Soaring High Productions.
