I started off wanting to be an actor, but while successful in little theater, failed miserably in Hollywood.  Had always had a penchant for writing -- in high school I was writing a novel the kids were taking home for themselves and their parents to read  I joined the Air Force, had tours in Greece, Turkey, and Germany... where I then had a "fatal involvement," which covered a span of nearly 7 years.  What began as a diary of a love affair ,very quickly developed into a book of poetry -- being strongly influenced by a tattered book of poems by Walter Benton.  After returning to the states, I tried to get into acting, but it never quite gelled.  I wrote poetry prolifically for awhile, but then began to concentrate on larger projects.  I wrote a couple of screenplays, and stage plays; was agented a couple of times.  But it didn't work out.  Gained 120+ credits of college, but no degree.  Finally, a series of personal disasters forced me to leave L. A. in '95, and I moved to Kansas, where both my sister and parents had moved (from PA).  Am now in a "forced" retirement, and took the plunge to finally publish a book on my own. Have been published in some literary quarterlies and little magazines previously, and won a prize with the Kansas Writers Association in 2004 -- but nothing spectacular.   My book: YOU, MY LOVE... A Diary In Verse, (a la Doctor Zhivago), is something that went through many revisions, tons of submissions, and a never-dying dream of over 40 years.  To me, it is still as fresh as when it was first being written.  (Two subsequent books have also been published now, and are available on Amazon: HOW DEEP THE PAIN GOES QUIET, AFTER and DEATH AND MORNING, with reviews and "look inside" options, as well.)

YOU, MY LOVE was a winning finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards, 2010. All of my other books have won several other awards, and had excellent reviews -- credits listed on Amazon.
