Hi, I'm Pat Ritter. I am an author. Have a look at my website www.patritter.com.au for information about the books I've written and published plus short stories. Since 1988 when I co-wrote and published my first book 'Closing The Gap'. It is a book to help parents improve communication with their teenage children, I have been writing and publishing a series of books and short stories. I love to write and express myself. My latest book is named 'Dream Angel'. It is a story of my life. The reason I wanted to write this book is because I wonder at times 'how and why' different events happen in our lives. Like the time I was transferred to Cunnamulla in south-west Queensland and met my wife. My parents and their parents were born in Cunnamulla whilst I was born in Brisbane. Different events that happened in my life I have searched through the crevices of my mind to understand why and how these events happened. By writing my life story, it is neither a memoir or an autobiography of my life, it is a story of events that happened to me in my life. Five years ago my wife of thirty-one years lost her fight with cancer. It almost killed me but I struggled on. My present partner, Gwen lost her husband only ten weeks after my wife passed away. In the two years after their deaths we found one another and now are both happy and getting on with our lives. It's wonderful.
