I started writing when I was 5 years old with a poem to my mom and have been writing ever since, majoring in English and later a Master's in Communications. Have done my best writing while a PR diva in Santa Monica but have chosen, thus far, not to publish because I've truly never required popular approval - or the money - to assure me of my God-given gift. J.D. Salinger, a Buddhist, has always had my respect for leaving his ego out of publishing, and I truly, in my heart of hearts feel the same way. However, I promised my beloved Siamese, Sir Anthony, that I would write HIS book and this seems the best way to go about it. As Babar said, "I meant what I said and I said what I meant: an elephant's word is 100%!" I'm always writing in my head, so I may as well put it down on paper and share it with other kindred spirits! Sir Anthony, whose ashes sit on my printer to my right, seems to be smiling in approval. Namaste!    

A hopeless Tomboy who grew up with four(4) brothers, my proudest achievement, besides my educational (UCLA BA, Master's in English and Communications) has been running eight(8) marathons, the last of which was New York, forcing me to retire my knees.

I have always been a student of human nature although I prefer the company of animals to people, but my curiosity and education served me well as a PR professional during my very successful career: knowing what "makes people tick" made all the difference.

Fast forwarding now to my "Golden" years, I've grown up a tad and simply come to accept people as they are for whatever their reasons - so long as they don't infringe on mine - for I have never been a "victim" or tolerated any nonsense where my values and high standards are concerned. My self esteem has always been healthy and gotten healthier through the years. I now strive to be more tolerant, patient, compassionate and accepting; it's easier than fighting it, for it takes too much mental energy! I'd rather stick to my Yoga, meditation, long walks, exercise, prayer and striving to learn the true meaning of Love. I love myself and always have; I just want to be able to feel it - truly feel it for other people as I do for animals.

I should mention that the Founder of Author's Den was my good friend, UCLA PR professor and mentor, Rolf Gompertz, now in Heaven. I'd like to make him proud.
