Young, Young in "Seasoned" Body! 7/23/2025 10:39:01 AM
The adage of "You're as Young as You Think You Are" is 100% true because it's a fact our thoughts dictate our feelings. Pushing 80 next month, I've gotten an incredible new lease on life, feel sooo blessed that my attitude and physical semblance is drawing so much attention, I just have to share. A CA girl now living in Boston (17 years) and pushing 80 in a few weeks, I am experiencing the most incredible and fantastic new lease on life: more energy, positivity and a desire to renew activities like driving, traveling and dressing to kill as I always had in California. True glamour (for yourself) never leaves you; a CA girl never lets herself go. No judgment on anyone else from anywhere else; I'm just sharing a cultural upbringing in the land of Hollywood where it's all about glamour because it's the entertainment capital of the world.
I've always exercised, been athletic (8 marathons) and taken great care of my body/mind and spirit following the example of my parents for whom I will every be grateful. Self development and self improvement have always been paramount, as having a life filled with purpose and never forgetting to share the good stuff with other people. We are all connected and need to take care of each other. I have always striven to be a decent person and have been very lucky and blessed that others have been there for me.
Life in Boston is 100% the opposite of California, culturally and in every other way, certainly weatherwise. The people? Night and day. I miss, miss, miss the joi de vivre Californians exude every day (the weather!) and admire tremendously New Englanders' commitment to family and solid relationships. Boston has been very good to me even if I'm not fully adjusted, but remain incredibly grateful.
As a retired PR/media relations specialist with her own cable T.V. show, my world revolved around people, people, people and events: Life! Boston is subdued and folks not so outgoing, warm or friendly, but once you get to know them and they trust you, you stand a chance!
Suffice it to say, I'm ready to drive again, regain my glamour, hit Paris one more time for the road and ski this winter. Here's to a Happy 80th to me!
