I began my writing career as a freelance journalist in New York and later as a daily newspaper reporter in New London, Connecticut. My greatest assignment was writing stories about the Mashantucket Pequot Indians before the tribe became filthy rich owning and operating Foxwoods, one of the world's most profitable casinos.

Information
Someone described the novel as "a lie that tells the truth." The Dreamkillers is my attempt to show how hope -- one of God's most cherished virtues -- is stifled and even crushed when not allowed to flourish. Although the novel is set in an urban environment, the message it imparts has universal appeal: "Where Corruption Thrives, Dreams Die." This novel was inspired by my experience and knowledge working in poor urban communities.
Accomplishments
I have a master's in journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. But for the past 15 years or so I've worked to develop housing for low-income working families.
