Born in Somerville, Massachusetts and raised in historic Medford, Massachusetts (seventh oldest town in America), I am a self-described jack-of-all-trades. I have been a navy engineer officer, navy civil engineer, helicopter control officer, columnist, sports editor, sports writer, feature writer, freelancer, asset protection agent, training coordinator, safety specialist, training instructor and videographer, among other things.
I have been writing since I was nine years old and had started seeing old science fiction monster movies on television.
My major influences have been Creature Double Feature, Octavia Butler, Samuel Delaney, George Schuyler (cousin), Stephen King, Robert Heinlein, L. Ron Hubbard, Isaac Asimov and Philippa Duke Schuyler (cousin).
My goal is write entertaining science fiction and horror with a special emphasis on strong black male and female characters who strive forward (and make it to the end).
