Information
My inspiration is Kenneth L. Roberts. I’ve read and reread his books (Northwest Passage, Arundel, Rabble in Arms, etc.) for years, while searching for a similar series set in my own area of the United States. There was only James Gilmore Simms, and his style is somewhat outdated. What to do next? Write my own series! This is how the Colonial Southeast Series was born. Set in the Southeastern United States during the Colonial Period, they chronicle the history of the area through the eyes of their characters beginning in the late 1730s and ending the 1780s as the American Revolution draws to a close. Based on actual events, these books teach the history of the area even as they entertain the reader. Enjoy!
