Who am I? My name is Christian J. Dickens. I spent most of my childhood like most normal kids (playing with friends, watching TV, playing video games, etc...), but unlike most kids I also spent a great deal of time constantly trying to figure out ways to alter the stories of some of my favorite video games or television programs. I thrived on the concept of the "what if" question. "What if Nintendo made Dark Link a more powerful influence in the Legend of Zelda?" "What if Yugi had a duel against Jaden during Battle City?". This was simply the start of my quest. Eventually I would go on to participate in Role- Playing on MySpace. I started as newbie, role-playing as Oni Hylian Warrior. I met other role-players fairly quickly thanks to my friend (she goes by the name of Saria). There I joined a guild and--. Before I go any deeper I should probably explain how RP worked. It's fairly simple: Type a starter (could be anywhere in length to a single sentece to a paragraph all the way to a short story). Follow with a reply (same circumstances with the lenth). The goal is to create a story using your character and imagination all while being able to follow all the other participants imagination. The RP thing went on for about two years, which was when we all decided to go our separate ways. I then tried video game writing, which was fine until the team fell apart. All in all, I would have to say that my main motivations for writing are my days of Role-Playing, people always telling me that I can never make it doing that, and the lack of imagination and creativity I have been seeing lately in stories and in general; the world around me.
