The search for fame and money is one of the main reasons why many people start writing (even though they won't admit it), but it takes more than money and fame to make a person stay in the writing process (notice I didn't say business?). This is true for me because as early as 2008, I was teaching ESL in a school in Dalian, China when I published my first novel, 'To Immigrate or to Live Happily ever after?' I realized that all the money and fame I was dreaming about wasn't going to come as easily as I expected. There had to something else, pushing me to write the stories I was writing, so I went back to a book which I used to read for the wrong reasons in my teenage. And no, it is not Oliver Twist. It is the Bible, and I read it back then to be able to argue with strangers dressed in white shirts and fat ties, trying to preach the gospel at my doorstep. But I grew up and found out that the Book contained the secret to my origin. I therefore went back to my origin, to the reason why am I am on the earth in the first place, and to the way I was created (I don't mean by my parents), and that's when I realized that God's initial command to man was to cultivate and keep the Garden of Eden. In other words, since we don't have the physical garden, the only thing we have that needs cultivating, keeping and weed-removal is ourselves, our physical and spiritual bodies. And that's really why I write now. I write to, first of all bring out all the skills that God has put in me, and secondly, to motivate other people to find their own God-given skills, in order to make the world a better place. Only after achieving this will the fame and money make sense.
