CAROL HEGBERG is a professional freelance writer and author. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism. Prior to her children, she was a journalist with college and local newspapers. Her articles are published in several anthologies, magazines, her poems in literary magazines, and plays and skits through Meriwether Publishing. Her first published novel, Pen Pals, is set half in Germany, in Munich’s Olympic Park and its old church built by the holy man, Timothy, who recently died at age 115. When Marie Masterson, #2 on the U.S. Women’s’ Gymnastics team, meets her pen pal, Günter Hoffmann, for the first time, she has no idea how drastically their love will reshape her gymnastics career. Her non-fiction book, Rochelle, (2007) tells in old photographs and words about the beginnings of Rochelle, Illinois. This is part of Arcadia’s Images of America series. Her other non-fiction book, Living with Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome with Dysautonomia: One Woman’s Story, is out of print. She has written for several heart newsletters. Her children's chapter book, LOIS TO THE RESCUE, is also a coloring book with its black-and-white illustrations for each chapter. For ages 5-10. Her PSALM BOOK was a writer-for-hire project that she collaborated with other writers. A beautifully illustrated book, PSALM Book contains prayers and poems rewritten for kids. It's available through Sparkhouse. Her latest fiction is BOUNDARY WATERS, a young adult novel. A young man recalls his summer in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness when he was 13. He learned about the wild area and about personal boundary waters.
