I grew up in Central Maine, USA, fourth of five children. Tomboy from the start, I roamed the woods, along lakes and streams. Learned to ride horses and shoot at an early age.

My love of the outdoors, horses and shooting helped me enjoy reading and writing westerns.

I began writing in seventh grade when my teacher taught her class to write fiction as well as non-fiction papers. My work was frequently the example the teacher read as the correct finished assignment.
