My Guide

Jesus is my guide; by his example I choose to live

Because for me his live did he give.

When I secret his word deep in my heart

Peace fills my soul, but that is just the start.

Patience is my way in all things now

By His loving example shows me how.

Anger He showed me only with the temple thieves

Because of their deception and the fleecing of God’s sheaves

Love he gave to all He met

Always giving it free of debt.

Forgiveness was His way

Not for a moment or for just a day,

But all debts and transgressions removed

So the sinner could be approved

When he stood in judgment at his death

As if he’d never sinned since his first breathe

Yes, Jesus is my example on how to live

By love and the willingness to forgive

All who hurt or disappoint me

Because that’s how he wants me to be.
