Where then my path,
Chains …. Barriers ….. Bind, twist and break my soul,
Broken from the womb,
My birth and childhood,
Spotted with darkness,
A pit of internal tears,
Plentiful are thy shattered pathways,
Each uplifting turn, I was tugged back, ….. Barred,
From the freeing light,
My heart in constant despair,
Shadows of gloom surrounding me,
My nights left sleepless,
Wounds torturing the new breaking day,
I stand alone, without love, in great harming pain,
My withered eyes as I age, turn to see the vision,
Where then my path,
This pale broken spirit veils me,
Secluding my unresolved restraints, on body, mind, heart, soul,
I stand as a harp without strings,
Holding my baggage firm,
Keeping it as my safeguard of defense,
Who then can see my gloom, ….. grief, ….. pain, ….. anguish,
My gaunt smile, fastened firm,
Sabotaged on earth by the worldly,
Weary, lone and weak,
Where then my path,
I gaze to the sun, I looked to the moon,
Crossed bridges,
Built walls, closed doors,
Suddenly I found myself daunt,
Trapped, sneered unable to move,
Lying helpless waiting for death,
Then as if my eyes were caught,
A bright light appeared,
Safeguarding myself with untangled pain, agony,
And disappointed sorrows,
I dragged myself closer,
As if to be the rustic dweller,
Weary, lone, weak, and needy,
Pacing the path,
A soft spoken manly voice called to me,
" Child, have you not known the footprints beside you,
In the day of shadow and hopelessness,
I held you and kept you close,
Tied you to my eternal light,
Humbled you, and tried your patience,
" open your soul to me’’
Awaken to my garden,
Alone you are not,
My love is eternal, more powerful than man,
Let me be thy shield for your earthly days,
Lay your burdens on the cross for which I died,
Come child, for you are loved,
Need not you ask, where then thy path,
For you are loved !

I have no such experiences to look back upon, but you write so soulfully and eloquently as a desperately needy "searcher." You have written about this journey in a way that allows the reader to feel your confusion and pain. And then the Savior enters the scene, revealing that He was always there, and you share a beautiful rendering of His love and His warm invitation to you.
"Need not you ask, where then thy path, for you are loved." Well done! I love this.
