Legacy For My Daughter

Poem Artwork

There is a legacy I must leave my daughter -
that of my love.
To let her know its depths, its boundaries;
its happiness and woes.
To a small child, it cannot be explained...
As you are older now...it can be understood.
I wish you to know in your heart
that as I love you - in simple and gentle ways,
so should you love living and all
that is beautiful.
I need you to know that although you will
feel hurt many times and in many
ways through your life;
find forgiveness in your heart,
and allow the past to rest as it is.
I hope that you will know, instinctively, as I have,
that the middle road is the simplest
and most humble;
always remain humble in your nature
and peaceful in your spirit.
And if you always remember the things
that I have written...
Life will be kind to you.

Hello:
Soft and lovely poem.
If you don't mind, I'll copy it and send it to my daughter.
It says what I would have like to say ages ago!
Thank you,
