It is easier to speak of a masterpiece
Than to create one for yourself
It seems passe' to border illusion
If we only recollect regret
Then it's human to act negative
While Godly to be esteemed
But it's immortal to leap boundaries
That are precious in our dreams
Fear can be a teacher at times
It appears to keep us strong
It's okay to be a failure... we've learned
And it's mortal to be wrong
You can live inside the box for a day
If your art is yours but for mine...
It would prove of far more interest....to me
If I painted outside of the lines
To age is something that bothers us all
From infancy unto our end
But I'd rather just outgrow my body...you see
Then I'd live on...forever your friend.
Like Mona Lisa, smiling out at us in that mysterious way. Forever elusive, forever a friend.

True friendship is a gift from the Almighty. I can't help but think that if we treated each other with the same love and respect we were created with by our Creator - then our lives would be filled with an abundance of the pleasures we have denied to the world: unending loyalty, steadfast patience, and unbridled joy! Good day to you dear one, good day. :)
To plod along in the prescribed path is something that I have NEVER done. You touched on a lot of my own life within your poem, Susan. Regrets? Oh, boy, sure. but regrets that I lived outside the box? Never. Loved this one, big time.
