When a person creates a wall then challenges you to cross it...what's the point when actual love walks through it?

Poem Artwork

The hardest wall I've ever climbed is the one I could not see
Built there by the King of Hearts who loves unconditionally
But all the same in Love's own game it's when the wall keeps blocking
The very path to bring it down but alas! It keeps on mocking
This pain is real and makes me look upon all the crude hard doubt
Of love that comes and builds this wall then puts it's own love out.
For love can hold on for a lifetime and never let you go
But when you hide behind a wall then you really ...never know
The beauty of a fuller heart is when it never yearns
It doesn't recognize the pain until it starts to burn
Freedom gives us every breath we take unconsciously
Once the Wall has had it's way...it's more conditionally
Then with the wall it hides away and dies with every beat
Of a rhythm made... one of a kind... for you... in its defeat!

So many people try to share their love from behind a wall they've built refusing to believe it is there until it's too late. very interesting, made me think, great write as always. Love Pierre.

A little out of step with this one. Love shouldn't be that hard. Brick walls make good houses, not bedfellows.

Love, the most powerful force on earth. No wall can hold it back when it shoots a hot arrow right through your heart. I know; it happened to me and the walls have crumbled into sand. A beautiful write Susan!

Walls...some crumble and fall allowing us love so completely, while others remain and are impenetrable and that's not really love at all.
I miss having the time to read you work as often as I would like, Susan...but finding a piece form you waiting to be read is always a pleasure...especially when you make me think.
Christmas love and many hugs my friend,
Taylor

Love is strange Susan
It's not the same for all
some brings happiness, some bears with it pain
And tears, some is false some is real
Love Is strange
Peace be with you

Merry Christmas
Love & Peace

Belle o the Deep Rivers ...

The walls and bridges you speak of, metaphorically, will always be there in one shape or another. Perhaps it's time to love again.

I believe that even with the most perfect of relationships that there still will be a longing for something, unrequited or otherwise. I believe it is the spirit in man reaching up for the completeness of heaven.

There is only One capable of giving unconditional love, the kind that all humans search for.

Light and Wisdom ...

John Lennon once said that for him life was a series of walls and bridges (he named an LP so). Walls of varying height and stability that we have to scale, and bridges of varying incline and lengths that we have to cross. For me personally, I had to scale many walls and cross a chasm to reach God's love - as you say, unconditional love. But even so, adversaries still insist on building walls each step of my life to stop me enjoying this love. Finding the rythm of step to outwit the builders has been an art form and not always successful in its task.
This is an evocative write, Susan.

Some walls are hard to breach. No walls should come between two people in love.To not completely trust and give yourself is trouble.Loved this write.

As this poetry has a rythem all it's own that calls to the reader to ponder on such wise and passionate words of love and how it is too often locked out by the individuals own walls of fear. Great write as always but from you sweet lady I would expect nothing less.

Hugs,
Fee

Love requires cooperation from both side. It is described as a community of two. Anything extra, even a wall, will destroy that love. Victor

We cannot put road blocks in front of our love as it may soon tire having to get around them and be lost forever.
