Poem Artwork

If I were to kiss the palms of your hands
Pour oils that smell of almonds to sooth your pain
If I were to kiss your palms
Press them to my cheek where they belong
Then take each hand in rhythmic yearning
Hold to my breast to keep love returning
Press my lips upon your lonesome mouth
Would it ease the more your sad and turned down pout?

A rhetorical question. It would if the receiver was open to the prospect. Some aren't. Some like it hot.

This is a lovely piece Susan. I like the intimacy and the affection you convey here in a way that only a Southern Gal could! I also love the picture you chose to accompany the poem. Wormsloe is one of my favorite places in Savannah. Well done!

Ooo, Susan, this is lovely. This is romantic, yet wistful -- a perfect mix of both. Well done!

Susan your writes whether about love or about your homeland all have one thing in common and that is such a romantic, sublime sensuality that stirs the heart, minds and bodies of your fans. this one is no exception and I love the desire you show to care and take away the sadness of others. Well done dearest friend.

i can't see how it couldn't, Susan ... a loving and moving expression of the closeness of your heart, easing the sadness of your muse ...

Let's hope it would ease the sadness and turn on a smile, but one never knows with the sad and depressed whether they will get it.

Thanks Susan,
~D.
