I miss the spooning in bed.
The way you back into me and nestle, so snug.
I sense each movement with the heat it brings.
It's your caresses, your fingers.
Weaving without thought.
I miss this comfort.
I miss the tickle of your new beard at daybreak.
I miss nesting in the cradle of your neck.
Gone... the softness of flesh.
The moan of a slow dance.
I miss the way you slide next to me on Sunday.
The cadence of showers that build with our passions.
I need the smile you hide on the other side of the newspaper.
I want to reach for your palm and study it.
Remember the finger to my lips?
A sketch of your lifeline with my moistness?
I miss the cool trespass of air as you gently raise the sheets.
Your approach as your shadow cover me in sleep and ...
Your tip-toe upon my flesh.
I miss it all.
This piece brings a sadness to the spirit. The heart is open for all to see and the hurt is evident....A Well written declaration of the soul...blessings
Susan, the freshness & excitement of "young" love is absolutely "great," I cannot think of anything more warming & nurturing for the soul. I can so relate to these feelings & I'm sure many others can too. You've captured life and its complexities in this one. An exceptional write.
Beautiful, sadly nostalgic, but with a lot of happines interlaced with that sadness . . . Pure Susan K. de Vegter poetry and it DOES NOT get any better than this . . .
This one although sad in some ways is also a sensual recall of such wonderful sweet memories that it is like looking through a treasured photo album of lovers and love. Very nicely done dear Susan...it is beautiful and timeless.

To you, I can say, I'm sorry. . .... I feel this pain ..... been and done ...... I can say many things, but they're all about me, and it is you who feels deeply what is said so well.
Oh, I do know what I can say, "Haven't we been the luckiest lovers on earth?
And, still hoping for another run - playing that role! ! ! With complete understanding and love, - Bill
