Don't even write a poem that sounds like a warning or advice. Some people hate taking advice and being warned. And this is just my dilemma, quite a bit of my poetry sounds like preaching, advice and warning but actually I just be fine tuning myself and relieving stress, amoung other things. However if someone else gets a benefit from it, good. There's no way I'm going to be giving out warnings, advice and preaching on purpose. I'm just stuck with this style writing but I try to break away from it sometime. After trying to help some of my stupid friends and relatives, I have no patience for trying to advise others. My friends wouldn't listen and my family wouldn't listen. Especially my mother, now she has lost everthing, including her home, trying to shelter grown men using drugs and not working. For years I tried to tell her to make them get out and work but she would turn on her more responsible children. And I don't want to hear no crap about mom either. Plain and simple, she couldn't afford her habit. I'm not judging my mom but in this world sometime you have to put your foot down or up somebodies butt to wake them up or they'll use the heck out of you. With a home full of crack heads and none workers my moms house eventually fell. I wrote a poem called, "Little Red Riding Hood," which was basically about my dilemma with my wife here in Baltimore and almost everyone took it like I was trying to warn and help them.
My wife is actually Red Riding Hood. When we were younger she wore the tight sexy dresses and didn't want to come out of them. Guys would follow her home and try talking to her right in my face. Yes my wife has a nice body and in tight clothes the guys get a little nutty. When I tried to tell her to loosen up on her clothing I got the same attitude that a few of our fellow poetesses displayed. "Well we shouldn't have too live in fear or under dress because of the perverts." And I agree but to them I say, "come down here in Bmore city and help me get my wifes attitude right." Now, we're a little older and most of her tight jeans has come off but she harassed the heck out of me at work about the young thuggish looking guys in the rear of our home where she parks. It got so bad, she wouldn't come home until I got off from work. Like I said, come down here and tell my wife not to be so fearful in this crazy shootout, drug infested city.
Then one poetess stated something about, "most people get killed by people they know." My wife has no fear of me, it's all these thuggish young boys carring guns, robbing and carjacking. I tell you what, all you no living in fear people come on down and help me get the fear out of my wife. After all she's only witnessed two of our neighbors being robbed and carjacked. And guess who was the white knight, me her husband. She witnessed me rescuing both of our neighbors from being robbed. She saw the young hoodlum threaten to shoot me so he could escape.
Yes, I let him go, run on after he reached and threaten to shoot me. I don't mind helping but I'm not going to take a bullet for my efforts if I can help it. Little Red Riding Hood was only a poem basically about my lifes dilemma, that's all. The fashion in which I wrote it, is my guilt. Anyway I know some of you are going too say, if Baltimore is so bad, why don't you move.
Just what I plan to do in about 10 years but not because of the hoodlums and crime. I'm moving because I love the wide open spaces and not tight azz places like New York and Baltimore. Besides I know how to take care of myself, I don't live in that kind of fear. But I fear for my relatives who can't shoot or fight like me.

Poem Artwork

Achtung-
German for attention.

Blitzkreig-
German for flash war.

I blitzkreig with words, graphics
 and verse,
just part of my poetic curse.
My style don't bother me,
maybe other eyes that see.
I was yearning,
to put out this warning.

Achtung, achtung,
blitzkrieg coming!

"Achtung" got my attention (pun intended). Yeah, having lived in Anaheim, I understand thug places. Those who have never lived in thug places will have no way to understand, and their foolish responses to your blitzkrieg-mode will not matter. Period. Hang tough, my friend, and write on!

This world certainly is a stew pot of emotional and spiritual lunacy, and opinionism has become a virus.

I have found, in my own experiences, that there will always be those who will embrace and understand what you do - fully or partially - and then there will be those who despise what you do and find some fault with it.

Your write spoke to the warrior in me!
