I don't drink, do drugs or use any other mind altering crap, other than taking a nap. I face this world completely sober, but if I was a drinking man, many times I'd be as drunk as I can.

It use to be daddy and momma,
then the teacher who failed me
for missing a coma,
or other necessary punctuation,
and too much little girl infatuation.
God told me I was acting like a pig,
so I had to face up to him big.

Facing up is an everyday affair,
each day we have to clear the air.
Even though I'm older,
a face up list is still in my folder.
Take this poetic board for example,
say the wrong thing,
a poet might get the trample.
Still might even if his verse is ample.
I could just quit this board,
and get rid of the lion that roared.

There would be one less face up,
on a list partially corrupt.
I'm no candy store child,
this writing crap is high profile.
Give me a slap,
who needs all the crap?

I'm a married man,
each day I have to face my wife and plan.
Some days I wish I could miss the trip,
marriage is enough to make one flip,
sometimes I just sit and trip.
Then there's the job,
many times I just sit and almost sob.
I know my work,
it would be ok,
if I could just minus the devils perk.
My job is ok,
it's the fools I have to face everyday.
But I'm laboring for my green,
I stay away from real mean.
Tender loving care,
keeps me there.

My life works because I face up pretty good,
I stay away from the mean nasty mood.
I can be looking in a fools face smiling,
but my monster be down profiling.
As soon as I can I get to scooting,
especially if I sense some shooting.
Life done took me to school,
it's worse if we face up like a fool.
