God said let there be light
and there was bright
shedded on a dark world
Not only in the difference
of day and night
but on the fact that a big portion
of the world was wrong and not right

Slavery was a darkness that
just wasn't right
It went on for thousands of years
by those with an evil plight
up until this day its effects aren't slight
Man can never get away from war
and killing each other
This type darkness seems to
always smother
Sometimes between sister and brother
even father and mother

God might have gave us light
but a lot of us still are stuck in
the dark of night
There's only one way to make
things right
and this is to give up our evil plight
Which won't go anywhere if we're
treating others wrong and not right
