The way we take
can make or break
and don't get caught
being phony or fake
Some take life too hard
others not hard enough
Some become too mean
and crazy tough
Get to treating folks too rough
It's best to have just the right stuff

We can't blame anyone for
not taking life with a smile
but we can blame them for
not trying it for awhile
Everyday I try smiling and joy
I might as well be a sitting duck decoy
If it wasn't for goal
my spirit would be a sad soul

I keep smacking myself in shape
hopefully I'll continue to escape
Anyway I've been wearing a smile
for years
all through my tears and fears
Once the sun shines down inside
the heart and soul will never
forget the ride
No way to have sun
in the dark of the none
