Rush hour in Minneapolis
Speeding over the bridge
Aiming to get home soon
But ended up in a tragedy
As things have fallen apart
When fate has intervened
A mighty collapse happened
When the Minneapolis bridge
Fell into the Mississippi river
Slamming cars and vehicles
Against concrete traffic bars
Forcing people to jump over
What a horror they have witnessed
It is a pain we share with America
Minneapolis is our second home
It is hosts large Somali community
It is where they had found sanctuary
When strife in Somalia reached peak
My heart dropped when I heard the
news of the bridge collapsing
in Minnesota. How I
wish I could span the distance
with my hands so it never
happened: they are in my prayers.
These words came to me as I watched the horrible scene unfolding before my eyes. Truly, we are connected by the span of peace bridging differences: a loving, compassionate, heartfelt tribute to a horror that should not have happened; thank you, (((Brother))), (((friend))).
Another extremely sad and horrific tragedy, in a world filled with far too many of them these days. And we join you in sending our sympathies to them, Minneapolis is a marvelous city, filled with some very good souls.
