Poem Artwork

In my dream last night I met
an angel in the heaven of love.
And as I lay there on her lap,
she whispered, “I love you”,
into my ears. And as she
embraced me in her arms,
I felt the wind of freedom
in the pastures of my heart.

Her love for me
was as pristine as the
newborn child
that has no name,
in the social garden
of this multifarious Earth.
There is nothing
to be said about it.
It was like the
warmth of the Sun.
I could feel it
in every corner
of my heart.

We sang for a while
the song of our life, and
as she was about
to bid me goodbye, I
asked,” Speak to me of your past,
which the people infer and define,
each eonaeon to his own notion;
for I have seen the past honored
and blamed in different ways.”

After a deep sigh,
she whispered,
“I have my past
but I have unfastened its belt.
I am not a fool as you
to encircle my present
with its crest.”

In my nap this afternoon,
I met my angel yet again.
And as I lay there on her lap,
I asked,” What’s the future of your past?"

She nodded her head
with a smile
and whispered,
"Look at the present,
sipping the past
and giving birth to the future."

In my evening reverie,
I had a brief rendezvous
with my angel again.
And as I lay there on her lap,
I said, “ The darkness of my murky past
has been eclipsing the dawn of my tomorrow.”

After a consoling silence,
she whispered,
“If you spend all your time
thinking about your tragic past,
life isn't going to be much fun.
Don’t let your yesterday
rise up early today.
Bury it under the pillow
and tread on with your today.
For your better tomorrow.”

After hearing those
words of wisdom,
I smiled with myself,
and she nodded her head
with appreciation, and
as she puffed her wings,
I asked, “ Will I see you
tonight again, my love? “

Tonight, I shall sleep early
hoping to kiss her again,
but tomorrow, I vow to wake up
from my slumber
and rejoice with you all;
for I have found the past,
which I had lost
in my present,
in the midst
of her lips.

Such wisdom tied with a beautiful bow of pristine imagery here, Bhuwan - and, yes, I am inclined to believe that you DO recline in the lap of some gorgeous angelic being for much of the time! :)) Fantastic lines and concepts: "For I have found the past, which I had lost in my present, in the midst of her lips". All of life is within the circle of her arms - just divine! Keep resting in that luscious lap, Bhuwan! LOL and prayers, Kate xx

So true and you've captured it so well; too often we can't enjoy today because of our past; we are forgiven if we ask for it, but oftentimes we don't ask ourselves. Nice rendition.
