Dedicated To All The Lovers Of This World

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Poem Artwork

Lying in the desiccated grassland
With sapphire sky above my head
I seek the life that drifted away
Like the leaf by the zephyr’s primacy

Those were the golden times,
When I was completely galvanized
By the extravagant grin of the lights
From dusk till dawn and dawn till dusk

I had someone charismatic with me,
An infinite puddle of ambrosia
Or simply the conscientious
Fountain of an eternal joy

The womb of quietude
And harmonious happiness
That used to brighten me
Like the countenance of the sun

We used to shine like the moon
In the full moon night
Life was so rollicking
We were always on the roll

Happiness was everywhere,
In the nascent of the flowers,
In the flow of the rivers
And in chirping of the birds

Love was everywhere
In the radiance of the sun
In the darkness of the night
And in every moment of our life

We used to dwell
In the heaven of love,
Where even the light of the darkness
Used to tango with the naked stars

We were so free
As any bird in its flight
Sometimes, we were like the clouds
Soaring in the itinerary of the skies

Sometimes,
We were the parrots
Repeating love crammed words
That we used to murmur

But most often, we used to be the lovebirds
Always in our divine company
Twittering, chirping and whispering
Tenderly in our friendship

Sky wasn't the limit
It was limitless for us
Fastened by the rainbow
We used to salute the dawn

Lost in each other
Life had to give us
A thrust to wake us up
From our love squashed slumber

We used to kiss
We used to cuddle
And we used to make love
Beneath the orchestra of clouds

But, Oh! God,
Cruel God
Life flickered
In a flash

Fate,
It grasped me
In the first corner
Of the straight road

The lamp of my existence
Completely went off
Darkness, darkness
And only darkness followed

Life collapsed
Like the house of cards
Catastrophe fell like the rain
And drowned my soul in the pond of vain

God snatched her
Away from me
And left me alone
To face the melancholy

I still don’t know
Why God took her so early.
Why God acted that way
I must have been a sinner in my last life

I am in the dooms land now,
Where darkness prevails and misery rules
Loneliness, despair, frustration, anger and pain
Flows like the blood inside my vein

I haven’t forgotten her
Tell me, how can I forget her
My eyes fill up with tears
Whenever I think about her

My heart feels so hollow
A feeling hard to share
Because it's full of pain
And yes, it's hard to bear

In silence I grieve
In secret I laugh aloud
Those happy reminiscences
And those mesmerizing times

If you ask me,
How am I passing my days lately?
I would say,
Praying…praying and praying

I pray to God ever day
You know, what I pray
God, don’t do to others
What you have done to me

When you unite two hearts
Let the seeds of their love
Metamorphose into the gorgeous garden
And decorate their soul with the garland of rose

God, come down and rescue me
For now, I am even missing me
God, can I have one query before I die
Is loving somebody a crime?

If it is not a crime
Then why are you punishing me?
For I have loved and still I love
Some one much more than me

Heart touching, gut wrenching write! I could not help but think of my mother as I read this. She lost her soulmate many years ago.

Oh Bhuwan... I am absolutely speechless; just breathless! My hairs stood on end. I was hooked from beginning to end. I felt the joy, the pain and sorrow. And I couldn't wait to read it a second time. Loved the verbiage, especially these lines: "An infinite puddle of ambrosia", "Where even the light of the darkness Used to tango with the naked stars", "Catastrophe fell like the rain".

You have touched my heart deeply with this one, my friend. A clapping, standing ovation - Bellisima!!!

Hi Bhuwan:

What an expressive write! Your pain in this poem is well-displayed, and you have such a good heart you didn't want others to go through what you went through. Very nice of you indeed!
