If nature has delayed cycles, where does that leave us?

Autumn in Winter!

Pear tree looms over the garden
like a beacon to all who reside below her
Leaves aglow with golden burgundy hues
whilst she entertains the feathery help meets
who have come to spread her good cheer
chattering loudly as they gather, she drops another leaf!

Golden Oak across the way is already into her mourning
barren sticks pointing skyward, exposing her still sturdy frame
unlike the hardy Pear, Sun's scorching rays of summer left her
bare, grieving afore the allotted time. She gives no shade, only tempory perching, for a weary visitor enroute, yet saves her strength for the little ones budding in her bossom!

Young Elder bows in adoration to the Pear
turning a glorious golden as though in humility
satisfying her older and bigger peer, yet a lamp in a dull corner
is she, to light the pathway for the even smaller and inexperienced, shrubs. One is burning with such fervour
though small, seemingly insignificant, resembles a burning bush

The Roses vanity unwilling to submit to tanned leathery complexion, have kept their faces hidden, and only now
do they show their pale yet, tarnished splendour so late in the day. For those winged pollinators have painted them, pink over white, to their own delight, then buzzed off
to parts unknown, in diminishing numbers of late!

On the face of things, all seems harmonious, yet it's June!
Whilst Evergreens maintain colour and hardy stature
heavy dew drops fall from the mouths of each one here,
as though amid the presumed peace, stirrings of apprehension
hinder the solemnity, thus causing anxiety through anticipation
of the soon coming spring, as buds are already bursting forth,

They cannot wait, they are ripe and must be delivered.
Nothing it seems can prevent this process, certainly no panting as that of a woman allaying the inevitable birth.
Through the quieteness, whispers are heard, secrets are told
only to those who have foresight to listen and understand
that though it is Winter, Autumn is still present with Spring

On the doorstep!

Who is therefore out of order? Is it the wilful Autumn unwilling to depart for want of prolonged life, or Winter eager to make her presence felt with her barren heart still yearning as at the very first fall? Or the joyous Spring wishing to announce the coming King of glories within her. Who can know, who can understand, this unwitting alignment..

All they know, is that Summer will once again invade with chariots of fire, to scorch and suck the living waters neath their feet, leaving parched mouths wanting, as she did last season. Perhaps she will come again, like a mighty army taking no prisoners, slaying all within. They wonder, they dicuss these matters amongst themselves, whilst keen eyes observe!

The weather being "a woman" is allowed to change her mind (LOL). Seriously, you do make some good points via your verses here, Ch'erie. Thank you. Love and blessings to you,

The photograph is one of such beauty! Enjoyed the write and yes
sometimes nature can be very deceiving as well as confusing. We just get the opportunity to ride along.....

Be safe,

A beautifully colorful write
with great insights. Nothing
we can do really except go along
for the ride. Hopefully we won't
be left hanging upside down like
those poor people were on that
bloody broke down roller coaster.
Blessings ...
Richard
