Robert Burns was a Dutchman
boon companion of potato-eaters
mad as Vincent for sunflowers.
Loved the lassies like Vermeer:
Jean Armour, Highland Mary,
The Girl With The Pearl Earring.
Not too straight like a Kirk
minister or a Mondrian picture;
a laughing Dutchman, so cavalier!
