The Puffin Little clown bird colourful on the cliffs putting on a pantomime where tough survival lives. Life is a bit of a circus, on the rocky outcrops you look defenceless. Little puffin, keep your head up, Iona, Fingal's cave, Lindisfarne, the churchmen need a laugh, go where the saints live.

I never thought about it. But puffins do look like little clowns with red noses. Your poem describes them perfectly.
