Settle Poem

When you're on a lonely platform, the station master
suddenly signals the arrival of the Music and Ale
train to Ribblehead in the Pennines.
Soon you forget you've ever hit the buffers, your poem
moving you along on beautiful lines in quatrains.
Drinking Copperhead Dragon, having a real good time,
laughing with the other passengers and talking steam trains,
are you stopping in Settle, walking the Yorkshire Dales?
Poems arrive when you seem to have gone off the rails.

Note: British, informal. : to stop or fail. His acting career hit the buffers. The project ran into the buffers.

Settle Poem

When you're on a lonely platform, the poet is the station master
who suddenly appears to signal the arrival
of the Music and Ale train to Ribblehead in the Pennines.
The poem moves you forward in quatrains and beautiful lines ,
soon you forget the sadness, the difficult lonely times.
Drinking Copperhead Dragon, having a real good time,
laughing with the other passengers and settling your mind,
Stopping in Settle and walking the Yorkshire Dales,
Poems come to those who learn to walk alone.

Next Arrivals by Robin Ouzman Hislop

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
