Above the log fire, Jesus, Joseph and Mary
A simple life close to the animals;
No room at the inn, ah, but the stable!

A royal family from the line of David
Rich hearts under poor coats, bringing
Love to the table.

This little lad, he's a lamb: a crown
of thorns for him when he grows up
and joins the battle.

Loving guests even when the house
and mantelpiece are full, God's country
is a welcoming and safe place, it's stable

A father in heaven, a mother on earth,
Look upon this Advent scene
And remember who loves you, child!

Take this journey, this Bethlehem quest,
the west without Jersusalem is a world
without a roof over its head, God bless!
