TITE STREET PIGEONS

The man's inside
They know he's very kind, throws the best
breadcrumbs,
Sourdough, I reckon

Says hello at the window
Comes to the door with a smile,

This was a long time ago,
In the time of Victoria

Tite Street today,
Not much has changed,

It's still the dovecote where every poetry pigeon brings/receives/gives
messages of hope

Ah, Merlin Holland,
Why, he's a fine fellow like his grandfather
The fella in the green carnation
Was always first-rate,

This is common knowledge among
The Tite Street pigeon community

Oscar Wilders on my head and shoulders
Poetry is off its high horse and pedestal
It's like Trafalgar Square

We can walk on water when there's kindness in our souls.
