Poem Artwork

We submit to the majority because we have to. But we are not compelled to call our attitude of subjection a posture of respect. Ambrose Bierce

Lemming Aide
or
To Inner Light Revere

Pickpockets and scavengers
Beware as they brush by
What is real, and whats a blur
Your loss is their supply

Sign across the dotted line
Sign your cares away
Stipulations written fine
Read with some dismay

Want some candy two for one?
Yummy, juicy, sweet
Come along, we'll have some fun
Falsehoods, lies, deceits

Bottle holding promised youth
Repairing years and fears
Reflection shows present truth
To inner light, revere

Satisfaction guaranteed
Number one in town
We got everything you need
We don't clown around!

Trust the bold, revere the glitz
Lemmings one and all
Never rise, relax and sit
Exit curtain call

Fantastic… I really enjoyed this grind of the mind! Now if I can only read the darn fine print, I’d do a lot better. Great job Poet! Grind them up and spit them out… Bravo!

Lady A, sometimes I feel like a lemming being led off a cliff to my destruciton; without the ability to turn around and go the other way.
Do we all feel like this at times? Probably, and today with the events we see happening around us, even more so. An excellent poem, leaving us with much food for thought. Hugs Bill

I agree totally with Kate B.
This is objectively written, and done excellently!!!

Life in this system is a joke, really, as regards The Lemming
Factor. Everyone says they live for "Me, myself, and I," and
yet they are strictly crowd followers and role model imitators.

Great piece of exposure here, Lady A. And I love your jalapeno
quote on the Bio page!

Go, Ambrose! What a superb quote!!! And Go, Anita! What's hormonal about this, BTW?! Pure statement of objective fact as far as I'm concerned. (Besides, we're ALL stuffed jammed full of them from the junk that we eat, so why not?!) I prefer the head-down ostrich stance these days and can't be bothered with the "Real Life" we're supposed to be motivated and driven by. Post goes unopened, phone unanswered, yet life just gets faster and more stressed. I'm only really interested in what is actually happening in the hearts and souls of people... but they're usually too busy to stop as they've always got the next important cliff to jump off!!....
Excellent write, as ALWAYS, Lady A. Kate xx

excellent poem!

Wonderful indictment of our capitalist society with its commercial and advertising industries that entice us to:

pay out money for what is not bread
we're just puppets on strings instead

"Lemming Aide or To Inner Light Revere" has delivered the message, and I have learned it.

Outstanding Poem to strike thoughts on today's reality of the majority of the American People, which refuse to Remove the CRIMINALS from the Executive and Legislative Offices.

If we, The Sovereign People, keep on delaying the REMOVAL of those servants of the FIVE MEMBER'S TERRORIST CARTEL, known as THE FIVE PERMANENT MEMBERS OF THE UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL, soon we will the picture above.

On this fifty-first day of Spring I Salute You, Sublime Poet!

Even after all of that we still are possessed with enough fortitude to load up the backyard grill and pretend happiness. If you pretend long enough maybe you won't have to pretend anymore and are truly happy. Lemmings or not.

it's strange how you can compare men to lemmings and to ants ... who can respect a bunch of lemmings when their goal is to self-destruct? ...
