-Another Extremely Sad Follow-up To

I just got a message from a friend on Authors Den
Who said that his outdoor cats were being poisoned
His sad story again got me thinking about our world
Our use of poisons is bringing so much life to an end
It occurred to me that I now find more dead birds every year
That are digesting rat poisons, being spread in America’s cities
And more and more areas of the nation are also poisoning coyotes
So now many other animals also perish from this across the country
And the Chem-Agro Industry now pushes more toxic pesticides
On America’s farmers, claiming it helps raise more crops today
Unfortunately, these toxins quickly seep into our land and water
Killing fish, fowl, and beneficial insects like honeybees, everyday
And as I sadly walk through my own neighborhood, I watch huge trucks
Still spraying those extremely toxic, weed-killing agents, on peoples’ lawns
With those horrendous little white signs: ‘Keep Kids and Pets Off Until Dry’
Unfortunately, animals can’t read - more squirrels and birds will soon be gone
And my A.D. friend’s horror story about poisoning felines, is spreading
Many people now believe that poisoning feral cats is beneficial somehow
But their neighbors’ own pets, doves and pigeons, and birds like swallows
Soon swoop in and also eat poisons being spread around for ferals right now
And beside all of this poisoning in our cities and on America’s farm lands
We are now spreading toxic poisons in our forests, to kill wolves and bears
So very sadly, so many other forest dwellers like foxes, bald eagles, and owls
Also perish from digesting them – we’re now poisoning everything, everywhere
I just got a message from a friend on Authors Den,

Our use of poisons is bringing too much life to an end.

It saddens me greatly and why I make
sure my cats are in my own fenced area I made
There is a nice patch of grass for them to roll in
off the deck and no one is capable of poisoning them
or my ground where the wild creatures come to eat...
I use no poisons what-so-ever, everything I use is
nature friendly and why my yard (in spring, summer and Autumn)
are filled with beautiful butterflies, birds (bats lol), and
wildlife

I just saw a special on the loss of habitat for the slow loris in Java that can't return to the wild from captivity because its captive diet does not contain the poisonous ants, other bugs, snakes, and amphibians it eats in the wild making it the only poisonous primate. The special was sponsored by Walmart, one of the most hideous polluters on the planet.
Shop until you drop, everyone! It's good for the economy. To hell with wild animals, who needs them anyway, when we have puppy, parrot, and snake mills at Throw Away Pets 'R Us. Hoard any lately?

This is so true. I hesitate to use anything but organic products in my garden. They put so much crap in commercial fertilizers. I think at the least this stuff makes the birds so sick that they don't feel like singing anymore. Now think what it does over time to humans. Could it be that this stuff alters our cells and causes cancer? We will probably be dead before the FDA finds out.
